Welcome to your
2025 PR Plan
A pulse check on travel…
According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), 2024 was a record-breaking year for air travel. December 1, 2024, was the busiest day ever and 2024 also claimed all of the top 10 busiest travel days on record. Travel is on everyone’s mind. So the pressing question from media is “why here and why now?” Travel stories and story angles will need to resonate with would-be explorers and their particular interests and/or behavioral patterns. As marketers and publicity seekers we need to be prepared to answer “Why is this location/hotel/event important or unique and of interest to my readers?”.
With its unique history, location, and variety of activities, Southernmost Beach Resort is perfectly set up to serve a variety of travel seekers this year: from festival hoppers, to cultural tourists, to couples and empty nesters seeking easy and relaxing getaways.
Additionally, the media is inundated with offers, visits and experiences. Editors, freelancers, art directors, even influencers, are booked in some cases, up to six months in advance, so identifying dates for visits, careful planning, thoughtful, curated itineraries, and unique offerings will be paramount to securing the attention of top-tier media.
We also need to be armed with compelling, eye-catching, timely, professional photography. A good photo to accompany a story or pitch can make a difference in securing a key placement, as travelers are more visual than ever.
With that said, we present your 2025 PR Plan. Once again, it lives here on your own personal website and we will refer back to this roadmap often, adjust where needed, and move forward with a clear and defined direction for success ahead.

Spontaneous travel is more than just a trend; it’s a lifestyle shift. The desire for unplanned adventures has reshaped the hospitality industry as the freedom to travel spontaneously allows guests to embrace the unexpected and discover new adventures. As a result, part of this trend does have some roots in securing lower pricing, yet spontaneity is not just about great deals. With so many aspects of life structured and scheduled, travel is one area that leaves room for flexibility. Also known as “F**k-It Lists” – these are spontaneous, fun, and liberating adventures that prioritize living in the moment. With this, we’ve seen an uptick in eleventh-hour bookings, one- way tickets, and other opportunities that nudge open the door of curiosity.

From global athletic and sporting tournaments to music concerts and everything in-between, event tourism is on the rise. Travelers age 25-34 drive this category, but it spans across multiple generations. Capitalizing on festivals and sporting events with pre and post activations, tickets, watch parties and special access can drive media attention and traffic.

No, we’re not talking about slopes and snow. Boomers are ready to “live their best life.” Everyone might just have to figure it out for themselves as the ‘SKI’ trend takes shape. ‘SKI’ = Spending Your Kids’ Inheritance. Two-fifths of the key demographic surveyed admitted they’d rather take the trip of a lifetime than leave an inheritance to their children. That said, Boomers are also showing a generous side, often paying for their children's and grandchildren’s vacations. Seems it’s more fun to spend the money when you can watch those you love enjoy it.

It’s solo travel - old concept, new name. Individuals, especially women, are getting out and going on individual adventures. While often it’s for self care, social connections is often part of the equation and leaning in to this trend and making this a bit less daunting will be welcome.

Research shows traveler mindsets are changing and the “I have to go everywhere and do everything” might be a thing of the past, as many are embracing the Joy Of Missing Out or “JOMO.” This type of travel is known to reduce anxiety and allow you to better reconnect with loved ones. This trend leans into vacation homes and options where family members can connect. Sounds like our multibedroom cottages might be perfect for this.
